Let’s suggest a translation fix for a WordPress plugin

In writing an article, we found a translation in my native language that was completely different from the original in English.

This translation error did not allow me to understand the problem, so let’s go and save a colleague a few minutes. You may be wondering why spend time doing this? If not for the compulsive need to correct errors or to give something back to WordPress that provides us with so much, do it at least for the gamification of collecting all the medals in your WordPress profile.

If you are not familiar with WordPress profiles, click the following link to see mine: https://profiles.wordpress.org/riccardodicurti/

We access https://translate.wordpress.org/ and specifically go directly to the Contact Form 7 plugin https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/contact-form-7/ , find the language we want to translate for and go to the “Stable” sub project.

We now click on the “Filter” menu item and enter the incorrectly translated string, “Circuito di pagamento non supportato.”

This Italian phrase would be the translation of “Payment circuit not supported.” while it currently translates the string “The request payload format is not supported.” I am therefore going to insert a new translation, namely “Il formato del payload della richiesta non è supportato.” and wait for some volunteer with more privileges to accept my correction.

If you are curious about how we found this string, go ahead and read this article of mine: https://blog.riccardodicurti.it/headstartwp-add-a-form-with-contact-form-7
