The WordPress course at Cedocs Bolzano is back
This autumn, “WordPress: build your own site” returns, the course I teach at Cedocs in Bolzano for anyone who wants to learn how to build and manage their own website independently, without relying on someone else for every change.
Six evening sessions, in person, in the Cedocs computer lab. You start from zero and end up with a real site, published online.
The practical details
- When: starting this autumn 2026, likely on Friday evenings, by the week of 19 October at the latest. Final dates are confirmed by Cedocs.
- Duration: 6 sessions, 2 hours each.
- Where: Cedocs computer lab, Corso Italia 13M, Bolzano.
- Who it’s for: beginners, no programming experience needed.
- Registration and fees: handled directly through Cedocs, including cost details.
How the course is structured
Six sessions with a clear thread: you start from the fundamentals and end with a site published online. Each session alternates explanation with live demonstrations, and between sessions you work on your own project, so the site you build by the end is genuinely yours, not a throwaway exercise.
- Introduction. What WordPress is and how it works, automatic installation, first login and the admin dashboard. We look together at examples of real sites built with WordPress.
Homework for next time: sketch out the sitemap and layout of your own site. - The backend. Finding your way around the admin: pages versus posts and when to use each, the text editor, links, categories and tags, images, media and galleries, managing comments.
- The structure of a website. Types of sites (showcase, blog, e-commerce, e-learning, web app) and how to plan before you build: page tree, page structure, content organisation. Then installing a professional theme with its demo content and an overview of the essential base plugins.
Homework for next time: gather content, page by page. - The frontend. The visual page builder: building the homepage and the contact page, with a working contact form.
Homework for next time: build your own homepage. - The frontend, part two. Finishing the pages and working through the real problems each participant runs into on their own site, with a dedicated Q&A session.
Homework for next time: a complete site and hosting access, ready to publish. - Publishing and maintenance. The site actually goes live: publishing, checking Google Search Console, setting up Google Analytics, backups and migration, plugin and theme updates, managing users and roles. Closing with Q&A.
In the final session we do a real publishing run: anyone who brings their own domain and hosting access leaves the course with their site live.
The tools you’ll learn to use
The course doesn’t cover theoretical tools, but the ones actually used in real projects: a professional theme with a visual page builder to build pages without writing code, a plugin for contact forms, one for SEO, one for caching and speed, one for security, and one for backups and site migration.
Who teaches the course
I’m Riccardo Di Curti, freelance WordPress developer in Bolzano for over 12 years. I manage 100+ sites and I’m a WordPress Core Contributor: I don’t teach WordPress as theory, I use it every day on real projects. In the classroom that means covering not just the steps, but the reasoning behind them: which choices cause problems six months later, what’s worth avoiding, how to troubleshoot when something breaks.

No. The course is designed for beginners: you just need basic computer and internet skills.
Do I need a domain or hosting already?
Not required to attend, but you'll need one if you want to actually publish your site in the final session. We cover how they work and how to choose during the course.

Yes. In the final session we do a real publishing run: anyone who brings their own domain and hosting access leaves the course with a site live and visible to everyone.
